As much as I love photography sometimes you need more than one image to tell a story or capture a moment. If you ask anyone close to me they'll tell you when I really get into something I can talk about it all day. I think its because I feel that through words alone I can't fully express what I want to say. Here are some of my stories maybe you'll let me tell yours!
The Rise and Fall of Sosa
This video depicts the rise and fall of my mental and physical state between my junior and senior years of college at Duke University. From feeling like I was invincible and could conquer the world all on my own because of my success to dealing with how broken I felt after years of stress both in my personal life and at Duke. Culminating and manifesting into the events of a potentially fatal car accident that left me bed ridden in the hospital for 2 months. I was left feeling broken mentally and physical in a wheelchair with little mobility in my right leg and arm. In the aftermath of all this I learned I was invincible but not for the reasons I originally thought.
What is Duke?
I have been attending Duke for the past 4 years. I am set to graduate this coming May. As that day gets closer I keep asking my self the questions "how did I get here?" and "why did I decide to stay?". Ultimately I think all my questions can be summarized by answering what is Duke? With my limited time left I set out to answer this!
